FAQ

What is CBD Oil?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, a prominent non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis plants. Cannabinoids are phytochemicals that interact with the body's endocannabinoid system. By doing so, they produce their effect and benefits within the body, such as a sense of calm, enhanced focus, healthy mobility, a healthy sleep cycle, and management of everyday stressors. CBD oil combines high-CBD hemp extract in various strengths (indicated in MG of CBD) and MCT oil to support a wide range of wellness goals. This hemp-derived CBD oil is federally legal in the United States.

Unlike THC, CBD does not cause any feeling of “high,” which contributes to its legalization across the United States. CBD does not typically have any immediately noticeable effect, though some customers have reported otherwise.

CBD primarily interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a grouping of millions of cannabinoid receptors found throughout your body, but are primarily clustered in the brain and central nervous system. While CBD is a phytocannabinoid, or plant-based cannabinoid, your body also naturally produces cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids. Almost every organ of your body, including your skin and digestive tract, contains cannabinoid receptors.

Unlike THC, CBD does not interact strongly with the two classical cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2). This is why CBD does not cause any psychoactive effect. Instead, CBD inhibits the enzymes that break down endocannabinoids, leading to an increase in your body’s naturally-produced cannabinoids. This increase even occurs in our furry friends, making CBD useful for pets too!

Scientifically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana are the same plants, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. They have a drastically different genetic profile though. Industrial Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. The major difference between CBD oil and hemp oil is how industrial hemp has been bred compared to a marijuana form of Cannabis sativa. Typically speaking, industrial hemp is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and barely has any flowering buds, while a marijuana strain of Cannabis sativa will be smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. However, newer industrial hemp varieties in the USA are being bred to have more flowers and higher yields of cannabinoids and terpenes, such as our Colorado hemp we're now using!

99% of the time marijuana has a large concentration of THC compared to CBD. Hemp, on the other hand, naturally has a larger concentration of CBD compared to THC. Fortunately, the cannabinoid profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from cannabis without the ‘high.' Hemp is used for making herbal supplements, food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more, whereas marijuana is usually used just recreationally, spiritually, and medicinally. The term cannabis oil can refer to either a marijuana or hemp-derived oil since marijuana and hemp are two different forms of cannabis.

Our CBD products are derived from legal hemp plants. They are dietary supplements intended to be thoughtfully incorporated into the diet and taken orally. They are not sold for medical purposes such as preventing or treating diseases or ailments. Here is more specific information about how to use hemp CBD oil and active ingredients in our products:

Extracts & Concentrated Extracts
These products are intended for internal consumption. Many customers who use our CBD oils like to drop the oil directly into their mouths. However, because our hemp extract is a natural supplement that comes from a plant, it has a taste that some consider bitter and strong. While many of our customers like the flavor, some would rather find a way to mask it. If that’s you, try mixing the oil in honey, applesauce, or a smoothie.Another option to avoid the taste is our CBD Soft Gels. These contain the same blend of ingredients as our Hemp Classic CBD oil encapsulated in a soft gel and are easy to swallow with a glass of water or your favorite juice.

CBD Isolate
You can take one serving (10 mg) of our CBD isolate by mouth up to twice per day or as directed by a medical professional.

You can take one serving (10 mg) of our CBD isolate by mouth up to twice per day or as directed by a medical professional.

The recommended serving size is 15 drops, which equates to about 0.5 mL and includes 4.2 mg of CBD in Bluebird’s regular strength oils (or 25 mg of CBD in our concentrated oils). You can take one serving by mouth up to 10 times a day.

However, we always encourage experimentation to find what works best for you. Consistency is key, so no matter what serving size works best for you, we recommend taking it every single day at approximately the same time.

If you follow our recommended serving sizes, our 1 oz bottles of CBD oil will last about a month while our 2 oz bottles should carry you through two months.

Fill your dropper with a single serving of CBD oil and administer directly under the tongue. Be sure to keep the oil in your mouth for a minute before swallowing. This will allow the CBD to enter the bloodstream via the mucous membrane under the tongue and bypass the digestive process. You will quickly feel the effects within 10-15 minutes.

Yes, CBD oil is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill—as long as it is naturally hemp-derived and does not contain more than 0.3% THC

CBD oil contains a variety of cannabinoids that interact with the endocannabinoid system. These cannabinoids bind to specific receptors throughout the brain and body, primarily in the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. This regulates the endocannabinoid system and promotes homeostasis and overall wellness.

While CBD oil is well-tolerated and safe in most people, some experience short-term side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, changes in appetite, nausea, and diarrhea. Luckily, these should subside within 4–6 hours of taking CBD oil and can be mitigated by buying high-quality full spectrum CBD oil and staying within an appropriate dose. If you experience these effects when first taking CBD, try reducing the dosage until you reach your desired result.

Please consult with your physician before using any dietary supplement including hemp extracts.

Evidence is developing that CBD can provide a multitude of health and therapeutic benefits for humans and animals. These benefits include improving sleep, mood, and immune health, while also reducing discomfort or pain in the body.

Not exactly. CBD oil can be made from a hemp plant extraction using the aerial parts where the compound is abundantly found—the flower, leaves, and stems. Technically, this could also be called hemp CBD oil. However, advertised hemp oil is usually made from the seeds of a hemp plant with little to no trace of CBD and is most commonly used for culinary purposes.

It’s possible to make CBD hemp oil at home with hemp flowers and the carrier oil of your choice. The simplest method involves grinding the hemp flower and adding it to a pot with your carrier oil (hemp seed, MCT oil, olive oil). You would then heat it on low for several hours, strain the plant material, and store the CBD oil in an airtight, amber container in a cool, dry place.

The full spectrum CBD oil you can buy from Supreme Wellness uses a much more sophisticated process for ensuring CBD content accuracy and premium quality. We start with organic hemp crops and use CO2 extraction to isolate the cannabinoid-rich resin from the plant. We then carefully measure the CBD in MG and com

No, CBD is not screened for on drug tests.  However, it is important to understand that CBD products may include traces of the psychoactive compound, THC, which drug tests do look for. If you are seeking the benefits of hemp CBD oil but need to pass a drug test, then stick with THC-free broad spectrum CBD oil

CBD is effective at treating mild discomfort and chronic pain. You may begin with a low to moderate dosage of CBD and place the oil directly under the tongue for a minute before swallowing. After a few hours, if the relief feels inadequate then you may increase your dosage to a higher potency strength for optimal pain relief.

You may buy full-spectrum CBD oil or THC-free broad-spectrum CBD oil. The main difference between the two extract types is that full-spectrum will contain the entire range of cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, including up to 0.3% THC, whereas broad-spectrum extract undergoes an additional processing step to have the THC removed.
